Jefferson Sheard Architects have successfully secured planning approval for the remodelling and extension of Wilson House Mews located at Rainsford Street in the City of Westminster, London.
The now unoccupied building, which is owned by Imperial College London, had previously been used as storage/workshop space, student accommodation and more recently changing facilities for a gymnasium that once resided next to Wilson House Mews.
The design proposal seeks to remodel the building to revert it back to its original residential use which will see the addition of a mansard roof to provide further living accommodation.
The proposals will sensitively restore the mews building, preserving its character and appearance. The form and materials of the roof extension have been informed by local historical precedents. Each house will contain 3 bedrooms, 1 with en-suite and ground floor living/kitchen dining space.
