Keele University Veterinary School & Hospital

Written by Chris Race Regional Director, Sheffield

Jefferson Sheard Architects worked with clients Harper and Keele University and developer Noviniti Limited - to design a new School of Veterinary teaching facility on the Keele campus.

This project brings together Jefferson Sheard Architect’s experience and skills gained through delivering Veterinary facilities throughout the UK, combined with years of producing flagship higher education buildings. The result is to create something truly special for the University and deliver the highest standard learning environment for the students, complimented by the animal hospital.

“This gives the Vet School an enviable opportunity to work closely with veterinary businesses on the campus. Our students will be fully engaged in all aspects of practice life to enhance their clinical skills and to give them an authentic workplace-based education. This also affords us the opportunity to pursue clinical research and innovation projects with our partners.”

Design

The design consists of a veterinary hospital, a clinical skills centre and Veterinary School hub facilities all combined in one triangular building, formed around a central courtyard space.
