Jefferson Sheard Architects were appointed by our longstanding client HG Construction as lead consultant to deliver the transformation of this former industrial building into residential accommodation.
With planning permission in place, our biggest challenge was working with the existing building to ensure all 44 apartments were delivered to the exacting standards of Pocket Living. Having successfully worked with Pocket Living on previous projects, we have developed a good understanding of their driving aspiration to provide superior affordable housing, without compromising the and quality of finish.
Working within the constraints of an existing building was a new prospect for Pocket Living, the experienced consultant team worked closely together to ensure the design intent and quality of finish was never compromised. The project was certainly not without its challenges, not only those inherent with an existing building in a constrained city centre location, but also the site’s proximity to a live rail line. Despite these factors the design team and contractor succeeded in delivering a premium product for Pocket Living.
