Cable Street, Lancaster gets the go ahead by planners

Posted by

Our latest student accommodation scheme at Cable Street, Lancaster, has been given the go ahead by planners.

The development will consist of the conversion of one building into student accommodation and the erection of a new 5 storey building comprising further student living spaces. The total proposed scheme encompasses 90 studio bedrooms including 5 studios within the existing building and 84 studios in the new building.

Much care has been taken to design the scheme with the surrounding context in mind. The site sits within the Lancaster Conservation Area and the building itself is Grade II listed. This has led to a building with its own identity and sense of place that integrates well with the area and preserves the original character of Cable Street. The aesthetics of the accommodation, which is within a ten minute walk of the historic city centre, complements the revered architecture of Lancaster.

This project is a further addition to our extensive portfolio of expertise in the Student Accommodation sector. We completed Opal 1 in Leeds in 2008 and have since gone on to design student accommodation schemes across the UK, including Wilmslow Park, Manchester; Tufnell Park, London and Mile End Road, London.
